DeepSeek, no rules, chaos
Fixed one #Mesa3D test and enabled tests in the #Alpine packaging. With the next releases, we can be sure no regressions sneak into Alpine or #postmarketOS. For now, some tests are failing on older 32-bit ARM, but otherwise, everything looks good!
Nice end to the GoldenWeek, got sensors working on the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 !
Still WIP, but sofar no troubles with #phosh on #postmarketos
For everyone at #37C3 into #LinuxMobile and more broadly free software on phones in general: This session should be interesting: https://events.ccc.de/congress/2023/hub/en/event/smartphones-freedom-status-in-2023/
The #FOSDEM stand locations are now public! The #LinuxOnMobile stand will be in building AW (near the main entrance), level 1, stand 6. It's great to be alongside all the other Linux distros
Please come visit us on 3-4 February in Brussels!

We're happy to welcome Nikita Travkin (@travmurav) as a trusted contributor! Nikita has been working on #postmarketOS since 2019, helping to maintain our msm8916 devices and contributing to many different parts of the distro, recently he's been digging into unlocking the full potential of some Windows on ARM laptops (checkout this awesome write-up https://github.com/TravMurav/Qcom-Secure-Launch)
I am delighted to share that my #FOSDEM talk "The Linux Phone App Ecosystem" was accepted. See you in Brussels!
It's basically going to be about how to install FDroid on Waydroid, and ... just kidding! It will be about @linuxphoneapps and beyond

Extremely hyped that postmarketOS can now receive donations. It's taken us a year to reach this point but it's been totally worth the wait. I really think we can succeed as a user owned, user funded project, with no external investors or customers dictating what we work on.
another blog post! trying to channel my creativity into this marginally more productive form :D
On fixing UX bugs, the lack of external contributors to Phosh, and why you can actually probably just fix things yourself (it might be easier than you think).

Made an initial merge request to get the wonderful improvements from @user0 into mobile-config-firefox.
The idea is to make desktop firefox behave more similar to the Android version, e.g. getting rid of the extra tab bar, and some of the buttons around the urlbar to have more space for typing the URL.
Merge request with test instructions, feedback welcome:

Huge thanks to user0!
#postmarketOS now has initial support for the Lenovo Thinkpad X13s laptop! I hope to use this as my main laptop soon

Lomiri on Mir2 runs on postmarketOS now! This is a milestone because it is the updating of the entire desktop to the newest version and also to use Wayland!
Another Vinfast lie: VF e34 and VF5 designed by Pininfarina and Torino Design, when in fact it was Chinese designed
pmbootstrap 2.0.0 is here:
https://git.sr.ht/~postmarketos/pmbootstrap/refs/2.0.0
After bumping the minor version 53 (!) times in 1.x.y, we have some
breaking changes justifying a major version bump.
Highlights of this release are generating fstab and crypttab with UUIDs, support for the mtkclient flasher and better locale selection in "pmbootstrap init".
For users it should still feel the same overall. Enjoy this release, and thanks so much to everybody who contributed to it!
