The common parallel drawn is Nazi Germany. And I fear there are valuable similarities.

He was telling me that it helps him out lots. Him & his peoples were pretty much erased in early 90s. #Yugoslavia became nonexistent.
Yesterday I went through the stack of ratty 45s at a local thrift store and found a bunch of folk music from Yugoslavia and elsewhere in and around the Balkans.
The previous owner had written his name on a few of them. I'm guessing he came from the area, but after having spent the morning listening to part of his collection, I can say that he at least had cool musical taste.
