CEAalysMy love of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CaptainCarter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#CaptainCarter</a> in a custom <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/woodentrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#woodentrain</a> ❤️ My almost-3yo & my 6yo grandsons requested this one 💞 My old shaky hands are not great handpainting tiny faces, shields, & flag designs (or ANY designs 🤣)! Designing a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/VeronicaLake" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#VeronicaLake</a>-esque hairdo out of frayed beige material & painting a custom-mixed auburn was a fun & crazy challenge. My almost-3yo & 6yo grandsons love her!

CEAalys2nd of my two latest <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Woodentrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Woodentrain</a> projects: <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Marvel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Marvel</a>'s <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IronMan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#IronMan</a> . Iron Man was a challenge; he took five days. In comparison, my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IncredibleHulk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#IncredibleHulk</a> took 4 hours total, including all gluing-steps drying & paint drying time. I've never tried to make anything as complex as my Iron Man before. Also, hand-painting his tiny face was 1) hard, 2) fun, and 3) funny! My two grandsons, ages 6 and 2.5 years old, LOVE them both; they have requested (demanded) MORE <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/avengers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#avengers</a> trains! 🤣 I'm in trouble!

CEAalysI'm happy with how my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CaptainAmerica" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#CaptainAmerica</a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/woodentrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#woodentrain</a> turned out, despite how shakey my hands are when painting things like tiny train faces. This face, with the teensy white "A" really strained my eyes!

CEAalys16x20 acrylic <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/painting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#painting</a>, "Ben's Blue Train World", for my 2.5yo grandson. His love of "Blue Train" comes from listening over and over to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BlueTrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#BlueTrain</a> by <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/JohnnyCash" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#JohnnyCash</a>. I first made a little <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/woodentrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#woodentrain</a> so I could replicate it in the painting. My grandson requested theses details: blue castle, based on 3D wooden castle I painted for both my grandsons; horse is based on Elsa's "Blue Horse of Water" (as we calls it) in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Frozen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Frozen</a> movies; red cardinal flying in the sky.

CEAalys6yo grandson requested a Cousin Charlotte <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/woodentrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#woodentrain</a> ~ she's really his mother's cousin (my niece) who's in High School, but that's what he's always called her. He said, "Make it a basketball one because she is really great at basketball, with red and white for her team, and put her game face on it!" so . . . I tried to do all that. His beliefs in my artistic abilities are somewhat belied by my actual artistic abilities! ❤️

Started w/a flat base and built up the train w/pieces of wood. I didn't make butterflies: they're plastic rings on store-bought cupcakes for birthday parties (a similar rings-inspired dinosaur train'll be coming soon, too, lol!). Cut of the ring parts to glue 'em flat to the sides. Will paint the little face & glue it on today. I like it so far.

Cobbled together from pieces of wood & felt. It is intentionally battered-looking, especially the helmet, cuz Luke & his spacecraft are FIGHTERS! The "googles" were a challenge. You should've seen 5yo & 2yo grandsons' faces when they saw <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/R2D2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#R2D2</a> ! I know lightsabers aren't part of X-wings: 5yo grandson requested two of my wooden lightsabers go "up by R2D2" ~ I can't say no to him!! 💜

I like it! 💜
