Working on these today: the result of the flowers I sculpted. Nicely translucent!
There are still quite a few parts left to sculpt for this one, but it’s already looking nice. I might have to take a drill to make the back side bigger though - the LED doesn't quite fit anymore. A spooky thing to do with something so fragile... ah well!

I'm reposting everything from my old Instagram, to keep my archive and have a record of my work's development. I'm adding commentary below the original text.

This is from 2 July 2019
Adding the ink drops to the shaggy mane ink caps. They are nearly done, just a bit of painting and detailing the base to do. I will show them lit up very soon!
Silicone can't be painted - but I created a recipe for a paint that does stick to cured silicone! It's made out of... silicone 😂

It’s been a little while since I last posted - things get busy!
Video isn’t really my forte (yet?), but I’m considering starting a video channel. That would mean learning editing and figuring out a video setup… which I don’t really have time for at the moment.
Still, maybe! It could be a nice way to show more of my process.

#wordweavers April 14. Who is your kindest character and how do they show it?
#zackandruby
I think Doc is the kindest character I have in my #WIP. He is small-built and wears wire rimmed glasses. He's a little bit nerdy, a little socially uncomfortable and has quite a few nervous ticks. He always tries to think two steps ahead of his friends; anticipates others' wants and does everything he can to fulfill them. Ruby's first possession after being taken in is a journal he gave her.

This was quite fun even if I am properly pleased with only some of the flames. Decent for the first attempt, I hope! The backs were left pretty much untouched. Maybe I should consider adding more... or just let them be, the fronts are supposed to be the thing.

Over the RLM23 red I used a mix of medium fleshtone and yellow ochre, for the yellows, because I had no actual yellow paint 😅 The hottest bits got some skeleton white drybrushed on for hotness maximus.

I received an order for a set of greeting cards with an original design (the person had previously bought a set of my bamboo greeting cards).

I thought for a long time about what the new design should be, dilly-dallied for a while, finished another project, and am finally getting back to the greeting cards.

I've settled on fantasy flower watercolors. I paint a single page of 12x9 in watercolor paper, then cut it into fourths. Each one will go on a greeting card with washi tape embellishments. I have 8 so far. Going to do one more big page (which will make 4 more cards) and email the person some pictures to see if they like it. Hopefully they'll say yes!

But in the meantime, I wanted to share with you the in-progress cards.😺

Looking at it on the whole, I think I struck a good balance of detail on this. Especially compared to the original where I most certainly did not do enough work on the dragons. (That was my main complaint with the original, and why I always felt it was the weakest of the initial Space Fox run.)
