EkoWhile in Prague last February for the Prague Tea Festival, I had the pleasure of stopping by the lovely Meetea tea house 🫖<br>
<br>
I shared a delicious Bai Mudan (白牡丹) white tea there with two friends, and was happy to introduce them to the gong fu cha style of brewing.<br>
<br>
Meetea is a beautiful and cozy tea house, located at the end of a quiet courtyard, and in which we were able to brew tea ourselves.<br>
<br>
Because the tea was kept in hot kettles placed over flames, I had to first pour the water into a pitcher and wait for it to cool down a bit before brewing the tea. No precise instructions were given (about the waiting time for the water temperature nor about the brewing time), which encouraged me to rely more on my instincts, tea knowledge, other senses, and general ~vibes~<br>
This is quite close to how I often brew tea at home, but I had never seen this in a tea house, and it was a novel and welcomed experience.<br>

Our hosts were friendly and helpful, and I came back home with a few extra teas in my suitcase!<br>

teadaydreams<p>While I am getting the shop ready I would like to introduce you to a very special tea. Although I have many favourite teas, this is the one I always come back to. </p><p>It's a white tea picked from wild tea trees in the North of Vietnam, processed entirely by hand and aged for several years. maiji<p>This White Rose tea from Shanti Tea surprised me. It's not something I would have normally tried, but my mom was interested so I got her some. She brewed me a cup one day without telling me what it was. I was like, "Is this some kind of Baihao??" (I was thinking of white tip oolong where the leaves are bitten by insects to release a honey taste; its popular name is Oriental/Eastern Beauty.) 🇨🇦🇩🇪🇨🇳张殿李🇨🇳🇩🇪🇨🇦This is just a teaser of upcoming tea photo essays. The problem with tea is that unlike coffee, small amounts last a long time. 100g of a decent tea can last me a month or two. 100g of coffee won't last me even a week.
Thus it is I have a backlog of teas for my reviews and today I decided to just give you a taste of what's coming.
The ALT text is going to be a bit sparse because I haven't had the chance to taste, and thus pontificate upon, the teas yet.
If the sunlight holds out to this afternoon, one of these will become my next photo-essay, but I haven't decided yet which.
