Ross of Ottawa<p>Mastodon/Tusky usability peeve: </p><p>When a post has a "Show more" button, and you click on it, and it's not merely another paragraph, but a six page brain dump… Now the "show less" button is gone way down to the bottom. </p><p>Better usability would be to keep the show-less button up at the top so I don't have to go chase it to the bottom. </p><p>Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Mastodon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/UX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UX</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Usability" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Usability</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tusky" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tusky</span></a></p>

Raspy<p>Reasons why it’s obvious that Freeform.app was and still remains half-assed:</p><p>No keyboard shortcuts</p><p>Extremely janky-jumpy zoom in/out</p><p>Search sucks</p><p>Shapes only align center to center, not top edge to top edge, etc. </p><p>Resizing is really bad</p><p>Can’t link to a shape from another shape</p><p>Lines aren’t intuitively going out of shapes, must be added separately to the canvas. They drop at a random place and need to be dragged twice to connect two shapes to each other. So bad I deliberately avoid creating any content that requires arrows or lines in Freeform. </p><p>Searching text in images works nearly everywhere in Mac OS built-in apps, not working in Freeform</p><p>And once again, keyboard shortcuts, really? Being able to add a description to an image is a must to pass the accessibility release gate (voice over), yet being able to use a keyboard for navigation and performing actions isn’t?</p><p>This app has been made poorly. </p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/freeform" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>freeform</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/macos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macos</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/usability" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>usability</span></a></p>

Наш опыт будет полезен продактам, маркетологам и исследователям в любом продукте, особенно в зрелом.</p><p><a href="https://habr.com/ru/articles/932152/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">habr.com/ru/articles/932152/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://zhub.link/tags/discovery" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>discovery</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/ux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ux</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/usability" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>usability</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%BC%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B4%D0%B0" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>команда</span></a></p>

Так как именно от выбранного способа установки зависит скорость и простота внедрения решения, возможности масштабирования и обеспечения отказоустойчивости, а также нагрузка на специалиста, ответственного за разворачивание того или иного продукта.</p><p><a href="https://habr.com/ru/companies/ussc/articles/932786/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">habr.com/ru/companies/ussc/art</span><span class="invisible">icles/932786/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://zhub.link/tags/%D0%B8%D0%BD%D1%84%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%BC%D0%B0%D1%86%D0%B8%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F_%D0%B1%D0%B5%D0%B7%D0%BE%D0%BF%D0%B0%D1%81%D0%BD%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%82%D1%8C" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>информационная_безопасность</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/usability" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>usability</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/%D1%83%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%BA%D0%B0" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>установка</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/iso" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iso</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D1%80%D1%82%D1%83%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F_%D0%BC%D0%B0%D1%88%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%B0" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>виртуальная_машина</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%BD%D1%82%D0%B5%D0%B9%D0%BD%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B7%D0%B0%D1%86%D0%B8%D1%8F" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>контейнеризация</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/docker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>docker</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/kubernetes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kubernetes</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/ansible" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ansible</span></a></p>

This being strong authentication, they don't want you to do it all the time, so they also let you save a device key.</p><p>Of course, this being <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Google" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Google</span></a>, they cocked it up.</p><p>Storing the key works on my phone. For some reason, the app fibbles the key on my tablet. Don't know if this is just an older Android version quirk or what. So now, I've saved a bunch of useless keys that do nothing.</p><p>This being Google service on Android, I had NO idea what the key storage feature is actually called. Finnish version calls them "key codes"? After a bit of digging they're apparently supposed to be "passcodes". There's an entry in settings but it doesn't let you manage those keys. There's now a bunch of cryptic number-cookie keys and I have no idea which one was the one that let me log on my phone. Wtf. (And I don't use this expression lightly.) Who designed this shit.</p><p><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/usability" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>usability</span></a></p>
