lmemsm<p>I&#39;m currently working on trying to build <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/UnixODBC" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>UnixODBC</span></a>, <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/FreeTDS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>FreeTDS</span></a> and <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/PSQLODBC" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PSQLODBC</span></a> on <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/AIX" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AIX</span></a> from source. Found out it builds on Windows as well, so I&#39;m building and testing it on AIX, Windows and Linux platforms. Would love to hear about others experiences using FreeTDS. <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/AskFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AskFedi</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/AskFediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AskFediverse</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/FLOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>FLOSS</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/FreeSoftware" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>FreeSoftware</span></a></p>
lmemsm<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@dff" class="u-url mention">@<span>dff</span></a></span> Searching the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/unixODBC" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>unixODBC</span></a> site, it looks like there was a text/#csv <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ODBC" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ODBC</span></a> driver called <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/SQI" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SQI</span></a> with LGPL license. I&#39;m not seeing the code in the latest version of unixODBC even though the driver is listed at their site. However, much older versions of unixODBC had a txt subdirectory under Drivers with the code. Wonder if anyone&#39;s using this driver and how hard it would be to get it built and working. <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/AskFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AskFedi</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/AskFediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AskFediverse</span></a></p>
Osunderdog<p>I spent part of this week explaining <a href="https://allthingstech.social/tags/unixODBC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>unixODBC</span></a> to someone that couldn't get it to work. Lots or learning curve there for a first time Unix user. <br>I definitely picked up on an undercurrent question from this unwilling pupal: "Can't you just get this working for me so I can focus on my shiny <a href="https://allthingstech.social/tags/LLM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LLM</span></a> stuff?"<br>My response: "Nope, I'll teach you to fish, but I'm not going to feed you fish."</p>
