Am wochende endlich so richtig das #UGREEN #NAS in Betrieb genommen. Als OS bleib jetzt voerst doch UGOS Pro oben. „Reicht“ aus für meine Zwecke und läuft stabil.
Der erste Schritt war jetzt mal #Immich zu installieren und woaaaaa - alter Schwede ist das eine geile Software.
Der Sync ist noch nicht fertig aber läuft.

Ich hatte ein paar Jahre lang eine #qnap NAS (TS251+) und seit ca. einem Jahr eine #ugreen mit Intel N100 und #openmediavault als OS.
#qnap würde ich nie wieder kaufen. Ist ein linux, aber verbastelt. Die Benutzerverwaltung ist schrecklich und das Filesystem proprietär, so dass die Platten bei einem Ausfall der qnap-HW nicht auf einem anderen Rechner gemountet werden können.
#omv ist ein debian mit Zusatzfunktionen, sogar apt funktioniert.
i wonder if i could move my NVME #zfs zpool to a Thunderbolt-equipped NAS like the #ugreen models, install #trueNAS Scale, and slide my NVME flash storage pool to a filer, instead of my creative workstation, which would free up 4-8 lanes on PCI-E for me?

Anyway, always be kind to the people that are serving you in order to resolve your issue. I always made sure to do this and it's always done everyone good, they're just doing their jobs and are there to help you after all.
I've went through this and had the same experience with #Noctua who sent me additional mounting kits for free when I had bought the wrong cooler set for the wrong platform, #UGreen when one of my chargers weren't performing as advertised (they made me physically smash the charger they were replacing lmao), my overpriced #Razer mouse, and some #Seagate hard drives.
The only "bad" experience I've had with warranty was with a Chinese #Shopee or #AliExpress seller I had bought a used (with "warranty") #AMD Ryzen 7 1700 CPU they'd sent me with bent pins, saying that issue "wasn't their fault", and also with the retailer that had sold me my #Nothing Phone 1 - tho in that case I believe it was an issue with Nothing's incompetence to keep their phones in stock, not the retailer themselves.

@inkvisible @kevinpurdy @pluralistic I suspect #UGREEN will build their software up to Synology standard, before Synology will bring their policies back down to User-Friendly.

Hm. Meine Bestellung* von letzter Woche bei #Ugreen steht immer noch auf "Ihre Bestellung wurde aufgegeben und steht kurz vor dem Versand." Hätte laut Ankündigung heute eigentlich schon bei mir angekommen sollen.
Weiß jemand, ob es aus Hong Kong derzeit Liefer-Engpässe gibt?

@lukasrotermund I'm going through the same process as you: investigating nas options. I'm currently leaning towards buying a #ugreen #dxp2800 nas device, replacing its #ugos OS with #openmediavault and running #NextCloud in docker. It's a steep learning curve and a lot to take in.

I got myself a UGREEN powerbank with 20000 mAh because I'll go on a trip to Iran in about two weeks. It will charge my and my wifes phones and I'll bring a meshtastic node. I hope I'll see some nodes... also using StreetComplete all day will be power hungry.
