Toujours en train de tester des distributions pour un projet de reconditionnement d'ordinateur portable des élèves et leur famille dont le lancement est prévu à la rentrée.

J'ai aussi commandé une barrette de RAM et un disque dur SSD pour me faire la main sur mon vieux ordi portable. 
Ce sera une grande première... Autant les desktops, j'ai jamais eu peur de bidouiller, autant, la minceur des laptops m'a toujours fait peur !

So, Today I plugged my Alesis e-drum total kit USB out into my laptop running Ubuntu Studio, I loaded up the red zepplin drum kit lv2 plugin in Mixbus for the first time. I was really happy to find out that It just worked ootb and now I'm tracking my own drums with a decent sounding sample kit! Upgrade zu Ubuntu Studio 24 LTS eine einzige Katastrophe.* Musste letztlich das System neu einspielen. LUKS Verschlüsselung bei Installation nur noch wenn man die Platte viped, da bei mir dual boot, fiel das also aus.
Das hätte ich mir im Jahr 2025 etwas unnerdiger gewünscht.
* bei nem anderen Rechner lief das do-release-upgrade 1A durch.

@iju Eilen selvisi ainoastaan että Blender ei jostain syystä toimi, vaan kaatuu jo käynnistykseen. Sain joku kerta esiin jonkun virheilmoituksen, mutta en tajunnut siitä mitään.
Voisiko syynä olla koneen surkea, emoon liitetty äänikortti? Ainakin jotain herjaa siitä tuli Ubuntu Studion käyntiinlähdössä.
Muut softat, mitä olen vähän testaillut, toimivat.

@iju Päästän sinut jännitykseltäsi viettämään rauhassa Juhannusta. Ei täällä oikeastaan olemitään nähtävää.
Ehdin jo miettiä, että miten kuvakaappaaminen onnistuu, mutta Windowsista tuttu PrtScr-nappi toimii tässäkin! Gimpissä on huomattavasti enemmän totuteltavaa.
Ehkä kuitenkin löytyy muutakin mitä jo osaan. Macien kanssa leikkiessä sai vain tottua siihen että MIKÄÄN ei toimi kuin Windowsissa.

@tomminieminen Veikkaan että tulee asenneltua Linuxeja vielä muihinkin koneisiin. Luulen myös että en koskaan opi ymmärtämään kaikkia näihin liittyviä hienouksia. Ihan mukavasti tuota KDE:n ulkonäköä pystyy muokkaamaan ja pidän kyllä käyttöliittymän minimalismista.

This was my first decent, proper go at @ardour on #UbuntuStudio
...its just a dirge of effected guitar jamming through the Line 6 Helix. Now what is weird is how the Helix isnt class compliant (as far as I know) ..which means someone with the UbStu developers is using the Helix.
Anyway, nearly 7 minutes of me making a fool of myself on the Palm Bay.

Where is the best place to get guidance for this #Ubuntu / #UbuntuStudio installer crash problem? Search engines are useless and our forums say ISO corruption or media error, and in my case both check ok.

This is getting tedious. #UbuntuStudio cannot possibly contain material its own installer cannot extract, and my iso passes sha256 and my install media is flawless (says badblocks) and yet each boot misbehaves differently, failing because it cannot 'read' something.

Well, at least it is a different result! #UbuntuStudio shouldn't be so hard. None of the USB write methods complain about my media, but shouldn't the start-disk writer offer SOME sort of integrity check?
