I'm getting a lot of great followers lately, for whom I am very grateful. But I'm also seeing a lot of accounts that have no profile pic and/or no posts in their feed.

Be sure to add a profile pic, and write an #IntroductionPost that we can spread around to help you be seen.
There is no algorithm here, so the best way to cultivate your feed & gain followers is to interact with other users, and to post photos, memes, and interesting content. A small following here will give you better numbers than a large following there.

Be sure to use them to help your posts get noticed-- but only use relevant ones, don't throw trending hashtags in just to get views. It's rude.
