Having seen something like this (albeit not nearly so purple...) recently...I can confirm there are few vistas more magnificent. My rendition of this sort of vibe: "Sunbeams in twilight".

Saturday evening's two-day old crescent moon in the twilight sky, some stars in the constellation Leo, and sometimes the distant mountain horizon.

Photography in twilight is a challenge because the sky colors, their saturation and brightness are changing by the minute. But it's also an opportunity because so many options are presented to you.

These four photos show choices in composition, and over time they show changes in lighting and color. They are not presented in chronological order.

Which one(s) do you prefer? Do they convey different moods?

Behind me sit two old computers, quietly waiting for me to decide their fate. Whenever I need a new machine, I just order the parts and build one myself. The trouble is, I never quite know what to do with the old ones. I can’t just toss them out—not without removing the hard drives and securely purging the data first. In the past, I’ve hauled them off to Goodwill.

There’s nothing technically wrong with them; the hardware’s just outdated. They can’t run some of the key software I rely on, let alone the latest version of Windows. Sure, I could install Linux—but I’ve never been a fan. One of them even has a new case fan perched on top, waiting patiently for me to install it. And there it is again: that familiar lazy bone.

#Twilight is one of the few movies I can watch without skipping or fast-forwarding.

A cornucopia of evening twilight shots, featuring the one-day old crescent moon and the head and shoulders of Leo.

First shot is a closeup view of the thin crescent in bright twilight...the sky is still only blue shortly after sunset.

Second shot captures the brilliant orange when the sun is about 8 degrees below the horizon.

3rd photo shows the moon moving down into thicker layers of smoke.
