Adam Onza<p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/TunisianCrochet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TunisianCrochet</span></a> is kind of between <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/crochet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>crochet</span></a>. In fact, you can work it in such a way with 2 colors, that one color can be pulled out leaving a knit fabric, but it is very loose.</p><p>Each row of TC is like a big stitch of ordinary crochet. (EG the pull through 2 ending.) Old manuals even describe double crochet chains, &amp;c that are basically TC! (Ch3 *yo tss normal closing, repeat from *)</p><p>&amp; ordinary crochet stitch can be connected like TC rows EG by replacing YOs with TSSs.</p>
Adam Onza<p>I made a little <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/TunisianCrochet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TunisianCrochet</span></a> dishcloth using the 98 Arrow stitch from the Tunisian Crochet Stitch Dictionary, by Anna Nikipirowicz. It has large holes compared to the sample in the book, even though I used a small hook, but maybe the yarn is thin, &amp; anyway, it's still good. It works up pretty quickly, has a nice texture for scrubbing &amp; maybe an edge would make it look nicer. 🤔 <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/crochet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>crochet</span></a></p>
Adam Onza<p>I made a rather misshapen <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/TunisianCrochet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TunisianCrochet</span></a> dishcloth, in a sort of double <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Crochet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Crochet</span></a> stitch. It went quickly. The body is very stretchy. I think the border makes it lopsided. It could be improved EG by keeping the stitch counts of the sides equal.</p><p>The DC one I made before is &lt; 300 stitches. For a crocheter like mom, that might be &lt; a half hour work. 10 stitches a minute. Goodness I am slow!😅😂 I am not that fast!</p><p>I don't think it's worth $2. I'd want something more showy, but usable.🤔</p>

Remy RoseSneak peak at a WIP, I call it the "Tunisian Sampler Purse" lol. Just an excuse to practice every 2-color in-the-round Tunisian stitch I can find, basically. dodothedev🦤💻<p>Went out for a walk today and had a cuppa in a coffee shop and did some Crochet and finally finished the first part of my Elf Coat, the pointed pleat in the skirt. </p><p>Now I'll have to make 6 or more flat pieces to finish the skirt.</p><p>One minor issue is that this section is meant to be 23 inches long. Mine is closer to 15. I don't think any blocking will add 8 inches. El, resting<p>However, this crochet gift is very much loved!</p><p>Acrylic yarn throughout, some of it sparkly. No real pattern, though the cushion centre is loosely inspired by a squared spiral pattern I used ~10 years ago. The centre of the blanket is Tunisian crochet, worked in the round by using increases and decreases. The edgings are dc/sc (UK/US). The pips of the blanket are sewn-on appliques, and the cushion pips are embroidered.</p><p><a href="https://kind.social/tags/Crochet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Crochet</span></a> <a href="https://kind.social/tags/TunisianCrochet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TunisianCrochet</span></a> <a href="https://kind.social/tags/Watermelon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Watermelon</span></a> <a href="https://kind.social/tags/CrochetBlanket" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CrochetBlanket</span></a> <a href="https://kind.social/tags/CrochetCushion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CrochetCushion</span></a></p>
TanjaAbout three years ago I took on the adventure "Elf Coat". It was my first Tunisian Crochet Project and what a learning it has been. The pattern and the resources available from the designer are wonderful and I learned so much from her! The following observations are related to my specific project alone. <br> <br> - Don't use acrylic yarn for a garment. The static when peeling this coat off is unreal. <br> - Don't forget gravity: I'm plus size = more yarn = heavier garment = the whole thing stretches when worn. I wanted it to be at my knees, it grew down to my shins. <br> - Did I mention the static? Seriously, I think that surprised me the most. <br> - Tunisian Crochet is not my cup of tea. But I'm happy I tried it out. <br> - Making a garment as a plus size person sucks, unless the garment was specifically designed for plus size. <br> <br> Pattern: Elf Coat by Regina Weiss from Morale Fiber<br> Yarn: Hobbii Carnival in color Basel<br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochet?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochet</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochetart?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochetart</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochetartist?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochetartist</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/häkeln?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#häkeln</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/handmade?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#handmade</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochetgarment?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochetgarment</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/plussize?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#plussize</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/yarn?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#yarn</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fiber?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fiber</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fiberarts?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fiberarts</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fiberartist?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fiberartist</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/tunisiancrochet?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#tunisiancrochet</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/elfcoat?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#elfcoat</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/neverstoplearning?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#neverstoplearning</a>

Dominic RossI did some of my Elf Coat tonight. Despite a few issues (I missed one increase row and wondered how I was behind 2 stitches), I managed to fix them and add 17 rows and increase by 12 stitches. <br> <br> It's now late and I still haven't read my pages for today, so I'm off to bed. <br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochet?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochet</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fibreArts?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fibreArts</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fiberArts?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fiberArts</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/TunisianCrochet?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#TunisianCrochet</a>
dodothedev🦤💻<p>Really struggling with my test pattern project. I just can't get the right gauge! I only have to sew two buttons on, and really don’t feel like it. Why is it that hard to do? Everything in my body and brain is just not feeling it. As in I really don’t want to do it. My own theory is that as long as it isn’t finished I don’t have any feelings for it. I’m not proud or disappointed about it. It’s just an incomplete project. But the minute I finish it, I have to feel something.</p>
