Came across an #English translation of a #Sanskrit book where the word "kireeta" (किरीट) is translated as "helmet", instead of "crown" (context is gods, kings).

This in a book by a renowned and popular author and publisher, with a million+ copies of the book sold worldwide.

I love the effort that people put into translations.
As a white Brit, I'm in that "never needed to learn a foreign language" bucket and haven't learned anything after my GCSEs. But cultural and language differences interest me.
I think it's great that they're making te reo Māori language versions of the Disney films. And even better that the Māori actors are talking to (for example) Colombians to get the culture right while translating Encanto into Encanto Reo Māori!
