Good morning!

Today I decided to give my aching joints a rest and stayed in rather than walking.

As always, I hope to write a good number of words today.

Yesterday, I cooked myself an Easter dinner of lamb steak, carrots, and baked potato. The lamb steak was so big, I'll be doing it again today.

Have a good one, my friends.

Something I'd forgotten all about came up in my FB memories today. This is the post:

"I've just received a letter from a reader of my books. She's reading Blood Libel. It inspired her, she said, to seek out the only synagogue in the (I'm guessing rural) county she lives in and wish them a blessed Passover. What a wonderful letter to get today!"

That might be the best thing I've ever received from a reader.

I've been sitting here n sipping #myday away and been lookin out at the kinda sunny day and thinking how, all late Fall, Winter and early Springtime, I waiting n craving some time to sit in the sun.🤔

But now that it's here in full blooming 🤧 and high heating, 🥵 I would just prefer to sit n sip and see it from my comfy seat through the window in the much cooler n comfortable "weather" in the house. 💪

Don't know if this is a sad state of affairs or prudent postponement on my part. 🤔

I suppose more sitting n sipping and pondering is in order #today. 🧉😊

As a transplant from the "Great White North" of Upper Central NY, How I DO hate summertime in the South. 🫤

Today I:

- Maintained the Hungarian Easter Monday tradition of 'sprinkling' (locsolkodás) where female members of the family are lightly sprinkled with water in return for painted Easter eggs.
- Savoured the winning goal that put Liverpool just one win away from winning the English Premier League title.
- Enjoyed the mellow autumn weather. Wet for sure, but also calm. The red, gold, and brown colours of autumn are quite visible now in the deciduous trees and bushes.

Today I went to visit Mum and took a posy from the garden. She seemed to like the flowers. I'm not sure she knows *who* I am but she knows I'm familiar (I'll take it; it's expected but I guess another sign of decline).

I had the thought when I was walking back home... it's not too late to plant bulbs. I might get an assorted pack and plant them in the ex-lawn and then I can take her bunches in the spring. I always find it easier to visit if I have something to bring, and flowers brighten up everyone's day.

three good things:

1) i had a few chocolate chips about an hour ago and now i am frantically planning on cleaning and dying a fleece that's been in my garage since 2023. i have a wee bit of inspiration to dye small bits of wool in various colors and then use them for embroidery on another project that's been languishing for a while.

chocolate chips as instant motivation? maybe! i'm not sure how long this energy will last, but i'll take it. lol

2) i still have fairy lights in my front window and they are the special kind that flash along with whatever music is playing nearby. i may never take them down. sorry neighbors. 😌

3) did i mention that i ate a very small handful of chocolate chips? because i'm not used to that amount of caffeine (or like, any caffeine, lolol) so i am kinda spinning my wheels here. but they were pretty good and i have now reached my caffeine quota for the year. 🎉

After eating pierogi from a new-to-me vendor at the farmers market, I had an itchy scalp — usually the first sign I'm having an allergic reaction to something I ate.

I took a couple Benadryl and the itchiness went away and I had no further symptoms — no need to pull out my EpiPen.

But this is actually good news! I've had an anaphylactic reaction to something I ate only three times, and in all three cases it was after a restaurant meal and impossible to find the cause.

But now I can ask the vendors next week what went into their food, and maybe identify what I'm allergic to.

Working on Easter Sunday is always fun, I get a hit of schadenfreude when telling people, “You can’t buy beer on Easter Sunday”. Kansas is so weird about alcohol sales. ROFL

It’s a beautiful, rainy day outside; I’d prefer to be listening to the rain by an open window. Making money is nice as well, especially at the new pay rate. That tax return even hit my account today, so this is causing me to carefully plan my shopping day.

My bees are producing young which is a good sign that they are thriving! I'm very happy to see several frames of brood in there now. A lot of it capped. There are a lot of uncapped eggs and larvae too. I have a picture of the queen, Bee Arthur, she is circled in blue. 🐝🐝🐝

The solid yellow caps on the 1st picture are brood or bees about to hatch. They have a fair amount of honey and pollen spread around too.

Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Well...darn, I forgot to come here today with all of the little things I was doing to get the yard prepped to mow the lawn tomorrow...saw the weirdest thing from Stupid on the outdoor ride...he was lying down right next to a car in a driveway across the street resting his head on the tire...that's a new one for me...rides were okay today but the wind was pretty brutal coming back and that aggravated my right knee, making it hurt almost all the way back...ick...good evening!
