Time changeover: Why CET is preventing the abolition.

The clocks have changed to summer time, while the abolition continues to stall.

Two researchers from the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences have made a suggestion how the knot could be untied.

The proposal may come at just the right time: Poland, which has held the EU Council presidency since January, wants to explore how to proceed with the issue.

In Peru for a vacation.

It is very strange that I changed seasons -- my first time in the southern hemisphere! It's autumn here -- but I didn't change time zones.

(Yes yes, it's simple, you just go due south a very long way...but part of my brain insists that you can't flip the seasons, and that when I've traveled far for a trip, I should be in a very different time zone.)

Ah yes, another deep dive into the thrilling saga of #clocks and time zones. ⏰ Because who wouldn't want an epic recount of daylight savings, right? 🤦‍♂️ Pay a mere 75 cents a week to support this groundbreaking content that's sure to shift your perspective on... time. 🕒

Want to convert between #timezones in your favoriate #shell ? Of course you do! use

TZ=$to date -d $(TZ=$from date -d $time)

so to convert from 14:30 mountain time to New Zealand time you'd use

TZ=NZ date -d $(TZ=US/Mountain date -d 14:30)

check `/usr/local/zoneinfo` for timezone names.

I have this wrapped in a script called "tzconv".

As I regularly work with people all around the globe, I really like being able to put GNOME Clocks' world clocks directly onto my #GNOMEShell panel, thanks to the wonderful "Panel World Clock (lite)" extension.

Of course, my QA curse made me accidentally add 100 clocks and lock up the whole computer (because of a stuck button, I suppose), so I filed a bug report about it :blobpats:
