Somewhere above the atmosphere is a satellite, and though I can’t see it, my face is always lifted at 45 degrees, pointing toward its geostationary position. My diaphragm rises and falls; my breath goes in and out like the #tides, and I stand and stare.
“Come away with us,” the dolphins and the sea otters say. “You’re no Andromeda, chained to the rock.”
It’s true there are no chains, but I’m locked on the satellite. Here I must stay until the release code comes.
