Ah yes, 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 an article that solves the age-old mystery of how Bell Labs, with all its resources and brilliant minds, managed to figure things out! 🤔 The author's groundbreaking advice? Hire a systems engineer and magically transform into an #innovation powerhouse. 🌟 Who knew it was that simple? 😂

Hi #Fediverse! It's time for #introduction.

I am Rusty, a proud European made in Czechoslovakia.
I'm interested in all the topics around #SystemsEngineering.

I've been in tech && IT for more than 0x14 years, from circuit boards to arguing about story points.
A brave survivor of Y2K, Zombie Scrum and other global apocalypses.

Talk to me in English, German, or MBSE. Bonus points for tech-related dark sarcasm and humor.

When you’re trying to solve a complex technical problem, look first for solutions that involve subtraction.

Today, a common default response is to solve problems by adding something. It’s a cultural phenomenon. For example, we solve software problems by adding more software.

Slow down. Back to basics. Ponder.

What is this immediate problem a part of, in the larger scheme of things?
What is our real objective?
Are we best served, today, by getting rid of entire ways of doing things that are no longer optimal?

Solutions that involve addition increase complexity.
Solutions that involve addition increase dependencies.
Solutions that involve addition increase the likelihood of system failures and breakdowns.
