En France, un lycée militaire est une école d’enseignement secondaire, de la classe de sixième jusqu’aux classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles spécialisées dans les écoles militaires.

Ils ont la responsabilité, chaque année, d’environ 4 000 élèves interné·es. Ils réservent plus de 70 % des places aux enfants de militaires.

Les élèves sont encadré·es par des militaires au sein de leur internat et doivent suivre une discipline en rapport avec le lieu : uniforme, organisation sous forme de pelotons, marche au pas dans l’établissement lors des déplacements en groupe, rassemblement pour la levée des couleurs, etc.

Un professeur retraité avait été interpellé mardi 29 avril 2025, après plusieurs plaintes d’ancien·nes élèves du lycée du Prytanée national militaire. Selon un communiqué du parquet, l’homme était "mis en cause pour avoir, entre 1990 et 2009, agressé sexuellement une dizaine de lycéens âgés de 15 à 17 ans", alors qu’il était fonctionnaire de l’Éducation nationale. Il avait été présenté "à un juge d’instruction aux fins de mise en examen des chefs de viols et agressions sexuelles sur mineur de plus de 15 ans par personne ayant autorité". il a préféré ne pas faire confiance à la justice de son pays : francetvinfo.fr/societe/harcel

I feel very very sad to read this today. Virginia clearly had so many problems, and I’m pretty sure we all have an idea why. The article says she committed suicide, but in reality she was killed by a group of truly horrible people…
