A blue border frames the picture of a kid's scarf. It's one of those scarfs that have a hole where you can pull the other end through to secure the scarf around the neck. It's knitted in a two-coloured slip stitch pattern with two balls of the same colour-changing yarn. The colour changes from yellow to blue and respectively the other way around. Eine runde Decke für einen zukünftigen Erdenbewohner ist in Arbeit! Das Garn schluckt zwar leider einen Teil vom Muster, aber ich fand die Farben so schön und es ist wunderbar weich 😍
Ich habe es im Angebot bei der Wollstube Kreutter, einem tollen Wollladen in meiner Nähe bekommen. Es ist #Banyan von Colinette Yarns, einem britischen Handfärber-Label. Durch die Zusammensetzung aus gleichen Teilen Rayon und Baumwolle ist es vegan und für Allergiker gut geeignet - und eben super weich.

A round blanket for a future earthling is on the needles!
The yarn is beautiful but sadly, it overshadows some parts of the pretty pattern. Anyway, it's super soft and I like the hues of blue and terracotta 😍
I bought the yarn on sale in a local yarn shop. It's called #Banyan by the British label for hand-dyed yarns called Colinette Yarns. It's made from rayon and cotton, so it's vegan and perfect for people with allergies.

Diese wunderschönen und kuschelig warmen Handschuhe habe ich letztes Jahr für meine Schwieger-Oma gestrickt. Sie geht am Rollator und hat bei ihren regelmäßigen Spaziergängen immer kalte Hände. Was passt also besser als ein Paar Handschuhe? Die Farben sind mit extra viel Kontrast gewählt, da sie leider nicht mehr so viel Sehkraft hat. Sie hat früher selbst viel gestrickt und freut sich immer, wenn sie etwas Handgemachtes bekommt.
Die Anleitung #AlvearyMittens ist von der ukrainischen Designerin Anna Radchenko. Von ihr habe ich zu Beginn des Ukraine-Kriegs Anleitungen gekauft, um sie direkt zu unterstützen. Neben Handschuhen hat sie auch viele schöne Socken- und Tuch-Anleitungen.

I knitted these warm and cozy mittens for my husband's grandma for her 90th birthday. She uses a rollator for her daily walks around the courtyard and has always cold hands. Therefore, a pair of woolly mittens are the perfect gift! I chose high contrast colours because her eyesight has deteriorated through the years. Back in the days when her eyesight was still good, she was an avid knitter herself, so she appreciates hand-knitted gifts so much 🥰
I bought the pattern #AlvearyMittens by WoollyWood / Anna Radchenko back when the Ukrainian war started as a way to support someone in their home. They have some beautiful patterns for mittens, socks and shawls.

Have you ever tried knitting double brioche?

I'm knitting a hat for my son, Folke, using the double brioche stitch. This technique creates a ribbed fabric that is incredibly squishy and thick. It's also surprisingly easy to knit!

I'm using two colors that are very close in hue, which I love because they create a subtle color effect—almost like a shadow.

The yarn is DropsAir and DropsKidSilk 💙🩵❤️

I can't wait to see how it turns out! 😁🧶
