Formula<p>If Valve's next Steam Controller has the same inputs as the SteamDeck I wonder if they can achieve that you can comfortably reach the buttons, analog stick and the trackpad at the same time. JulianCalaby<p>It's the end of an era here.</p><p>A long time ago, I bought a <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/SteamLink" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SteamLink</span></a> because I had grand plans to stream games from my gaming PC upstairs to the TV downstairs and because I believe in what <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/Valve" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Valve</span></a> is doing. I even bought a second <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/SteamController" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SteamController</span></a> for this purpose.</p><p>I used it maybe twice on my own, first to test the setup itself and then to verify that streaming worked from Steam on Linux. We then played most of the way through Overcooked, but this concerned our dog so much that we stopped. (We've both worked in restaurants before so we very quickly fell into those habits again and he assumed we were angry. This meant that we effortlessly carried some younger family members at LNY last year.)</p><p>A purchase of a Switch and then a <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/SteamDeck" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SteamDeck</span></a> basically ended any possibility of using it again.</p><p>A couple of days ago we upgraded our TV from a LG one with a bad case of the blues to a Samsung one and it seemed sensible to just not put it back when re-doing the cable management.</p><p>In terms of playing games on the TV, I'm planning to get a dock for the deck and that'll be hooked up to the TV.</p><p>So yeah, end of an era for me: my Steam Link is going into a box somewhere and most likely won't make it out again unless I'm planning to hack it or we somehow end up with a second TV.</p>
