C5With Mozilla launching Thundermail as a mail provider and knowing the intend to use Stalwart as server implementation, I really hope we start seeing more wide adoption of JMAP. MartinIch bin kürzlich über den Mailserver <a href="https://social.darc.de/tags/Stalwart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Stalwart</a> gestolpert und hab mal eine Testinstanz (als <a href="https://social.darc.de/tags/Podman" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Podman</a> Quadlet) zusammen mit <a href="https://social.darc.de/tags/PostgreSQL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PostgreSQL</a> aufgesetzt. Stalwart selbst ist überraschend einfach aufzusetzen. Wenn ich da an das durchhoppeln durch die Postfix/Dovecot/Rspamd/... Dateien denke! Das ganze läuft noch eine Weile als Test, aber ich denke ich migriere mittelfristig komplett auf Stalwart. Hans van ZijstI just found out that Dovecot 2.4 is a crippled version of Dovecot 2.3: no more clustering support, the director function has been removed. If you want to do clustering now, you'll have to buy a Pro license. <a href="https://doc.dovecot.org/2.4.0/installation/upgrade/2.3-to-2.4.html#removed-features" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://doc.dovecot.org/2.4.0/installation/upgrade/2.3-to-2.4.html#removed-features</a> So, although I've used Dovecot for years, both private and for work, it seems like this is the end of the line for me. At the same time I see what @<a href="https://mastodon.social/@stalwartlabs" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Stalwart Labs</a> can do. Yes, clustering, for one. And a whole lot more, including bayesian classification, analysis of DMARC reports and even a reputation database. I'm really impressed by what it can do. Bit hesitant about the fact that it's still only version 0.11.5 though, smells alpha... leetNightshadeConsidering when running <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mailcow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#mailcow</a> their scripts suggest disabling ClamAV on 2.5GB RAM, I might as well just use <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Stalwart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Stalwart</a> at that point which also doesn't have A/V, and their minimal config is a single container image consisting of their IMAP server. Granted I'd still probably want to spin up some UI, and maybe other things to tie into it. Just with the enshiffication of everything it's getting hard to trust a project unless it's managed by some group with the word "Foundation" in its name. In fairness they pinky swear never to close the source.(I was planning to use <a href="https://forum.virctuary.com/tags/Dovecot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Dovecot</a> but aside from questions I have about the implementation, the object storage backends are only available in a closed source edition called Dovecot Pro which isn't merely restricted to paying customers, but restricted to corporations - it's one of these "Contact us for pricing" questions, you know they're not going to talk to you or me.)
