#spoilers but one of my stories has an egg laying species, and when the (poorly English speaking) character exclaims "I will lay for you!" the clueless humans correct her saying "You mean lay with you." Like twice. xD Takes like 6 chapters before anyone figures out.

Yes, the Beeb were pandering to the US market from the start - which is fine up to a point - but the spoilers really get on my tits.
We even get this crap in #AntiquesRoadshow now where they do a bloody stupid "coming up..." and show you every single item before it even starts. Absolutely moronic.

Agreed - it's an Americanisation too far.
Maybe as the US rogers itself back into the stone age and gradually becomes less fashionable in the civilised world we'll start to see less of this sort of nonsense.
