slackpkg+-1.8.1-noarch-1alien.txz has been added to /extra. Previously avoided due to potential breakage from third-party repos (e.g., incompatible shared libraries), it’s now included as alienBOB has fixed known bugs. Use with caution: third-party packages can impact your system. Thanks to phenixia2003, zerouno, and alienBOB for their contributions and maintenance!

Taking over maintenance of slackpkg+

Hi all,

At least temporarily I am going to take over the maintenance of slackpkg+, the extension to slackpkg which allows you to manage the installation and upgrade of Slackware packages from 3rd-party repositories.

Slackpkg+ is developed by Matteo Rossini (zerouno) but zerouno has not been able to contribute for the past couple of

Yes, use the #mkinitrd_command_generator.sh script or run #huge, and nowadays it's #eliloconfig instead of /sbin/lilo nowadays ;)

Pro Tip: for a lightning fast #SlackPkg you can point your mirrors to a local store after setting up a cronjob for mirror-slackware-current.sh

I prefer to make use of /etc/slackpkg/blacklist and upgrade my kernels separately, since I often do custom compiled kernels anyway.

For some time now, the slakfinder.org website has been offline. The domain still exists, but the web site just does not respond. Matteo Rossini (zerouno) needed a break from computers, so it is likely that the site won't return on short notice.
