petersuber<p>I don't much like the Open Access Publishing Agreement from the _Journal of Communications and Networks_. But I like the fact that the journal published it for all to see, including would-be authors. <br><a href="https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/11106345" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/1</span><span class="invisible">1106345</span></a></p><p>Every journal should do this.</p><p>That's my main point here. My reservations about the terms are secondary. But if you're curious, here are three points on which the contract could do better: <br>* It doesn't let authors retain rights.<br>* It uses CC-BY-NC rather than CC-BY. It even says that "third-party requests for reprinting, republishing, or other types of re-use" must be approved by the journal. <br>* It charges an APC, and one that grows with the number of pages in the article. </p><p><a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/OpenAccess" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenAccess</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/ScholComm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScholComm</span></a></p>
