Habe heute einen Sack voll #Scart Adapter zurück bekommen.. hatte die dem örtlichen #RepairCafe gespendet, damit die #Vodafone Digitalumstellung zu meistern ist. Drei Leute hatten tatsächlich noch alte TV's...

Es gab aber schon immer USB Kabel die nur laden konnten.

Die wurden eine Zeit lang in die Verpackung gelegt um während des Verkaufs noch ein weiteres Kabel verkaufen zu können.

Solche Machenschaften sind aber nicht neu.

Es gab auch mitgelieferte #Scart Kabel die nicht voll belegt waren

One thing that I sorely miss from the days of #SCART is when you turn on your #DVD or #VHS player and it would automatically turn on your TV for you.

I know additionally having to turn on your TV is no big deal, but why was this feature not ratified in the #HDMI specification?

Who do I send a strongly worded letter/email to about this?

Dreamcast fix update

Got the parts console yesterday. Swapped nearly everything, bar the fan into the existing shell. It works now, although the controller ports cut out sometimes. Looks great on the CRT (SCART) and the monitor (VGA).

Things I want to do in the future are installing a Noctua 40mm because, that OEM fan is LOUD and getting that controller board sorted (although I lack soldering skills).

SCART cable and HDMI converter work with the Roland S550, as expected.

Now I got to figure a way to mount that monitor to the keyboard stand

@JohnBloor they often advertised the Roland S550 with a monitor and a mouse. (and sometimes a graphic tablet or an editing interface). But surprisingly, they didn't show much of how it looked on screen...

Here shown with the S50 keyboard (the s550 is the rack version)

Can't wait to try this out this weekend. It is a special SCART video cable for Roland samplers with RGB out. This connects to a SCART to HDMI converter, then to a monitor. this will be much better than the composite black and white output.

For Euro peeps this isn't so exciting, but in North America we never got #scart and it was almost like its existence was hidden from us. S-video seemed godly back then, but scart was basically an analog HDMI that was in use in Europe since the late 70's. I would have killed to have had this kind of video quality. C’è ancora qualcosa da migliorare ma decisamente meglio rispetto alle versioni precedenti .
