Mass nearly directly translates to comfort, whether you are referring to more volume/bigger boat or if you are referring to its heavier construction/more complex furnishings, or the non-intuitive light air performance.
So a #cruiser pays more than the #racer up front, but the racer pays more for go-fast gear. It is a balance, of sorts.
