I answered the door in a lab-coat with a respirator hanging around my neck, carrying a pair of inside-out nitrile gloves.

New resin arrived... Lets see how much better this stuff is than the cheap stuff...

A phone holder with my nickname 3D printed in transparent resin to the lower left, and my logo also in transparent resin and illuminated from the bottom by a round IPS RGB display.

I've started dipping my 3D #resin prints into hot water for about 10 seconds after washing them. This seems to dramatically assist in removing supports from the print. It also seems to leave less marks from the supports. (1/2)

3d print based on a Foglet enemy from the #Witcher3

The sculpt was a very rough one that I made a while back and I just wanted to see if it held up printed. Quite happy with the result.

Resin 3d printing people of the fediverse. What filters do you like for used IPA? The 100 micron filters that often come with the printer clog too fast. And coffee filters, even with a special funnel that's designed for higher throughput, is taking an age.

What do other makers use?

Dans le petit monde de l'impression 3d résine, quasiment tout (imprimante, résine, pièces...) vient de Chine. Je ne dis pas "société occidentale qui fait fabriquer en Chine", non, c'est quasi-entièrement chinois.

Et voilà qu'un collègue américain annonce que UniFormation, une entreprise chinoise d'imprimantes 3d résine donc, lui a envoyé un email pour suspendre toutes les commandes car ils ne peuvent pas se permettre les envois au vue des frais douaniers.

Maintenant à voir combien de temps ça va tenir.

Really wanted to get some painting in this weekend but didn’t quite get there. Did manage to get a bunch of stuff based / primed though:

- My kid’s Raven Guard AoD #KillTeam — he’s been carefully kitbashing these which has been delightful to see. When he had the idea he asked me if we could look for some printable bird skull helmets and it turned out that was very doable!
- A proxied Hunter Clade kt I’ve been building — still waiting on the awkward oval base for one of the gunners though. Really happy with the customised ruststalkers / infiltrators!
- The extra models I’ve built for my beaky AoD kill team — these had been sat waiting to be based / primed for a while…

So the lesson we learn from that mess, is do not leave the wash tank from your resin printer setup next to the window. Even if it's a north facing window. There's enough stray UV to cause some of the resin in the IPA to cure. And then cleaning the tank becomes a right mess.

Also I think next time I want to use a respirator with full organic fumes filtering and not just a P3 filter.
