I believe that right wing populism follows a similar power structure as hierarchical organizations.
- Political challenges and institutions have become very complex.
- This complexity cannot be reduced or abandoned.
- Populists will fail to solve these complex problems.
- Populist politicians will fail to deliver their promise.
- People will be disappointed and ask for new solutions.
- Progressive politicians and teal practices will answer this call.
Reading "Reinventing Organizations" made me more hopeful for the future.
Here is why:
- According to the book the predominant hierarchical organizations cannot cope with complexity.
- Hierarchical power work if problems can be simplified and reduced.
- Most problems such as climate change or ageing are complex problems.
- These problems cannot be reduced nor simplified.
- Complex problems call for collaboration and teal practices.
