"The #cannabis plant contains hundreds of chemical compounds. Among them #Cannabinoids , #flavonoids and #terpenes are the most relevant. Delta-nine #THC and #CBD are the most abundant cannabinoids and therefore the most studied.

However there are other minor cannabinoids such as delta-eight thc, #thca , thcv, cbg, #cbn , cbc which have been investigated to have therapeutic value (Izzo et al. 2009).

Although the compounds may have therapeutic effects taken alone (as in HEMP-derived isolate), their combined action when present together in whole plants (actually complete flower) extracts, is GREATER than the sum of their individual effects (up to 6x more potent according to recent studies). This enhanced and synergistic response is known as the #entourageeffect .

The combined action of cannabinoids and other molecules in the plant may present clinical advantages such as lower adverse effects and greater efficacy on the therapeutical management of several conditions, such as #anxiety , #depression , #pain , #inflammation , #cancer and bacterial / fungi #infectiousdiseases

"There may be instances where only a single cannabinoid (isolate - as in hemp extract) is needed, but in general, cannabinoids work best together and deliver the entourage effect. Pinene and CBD can mitigate some of THC’s adverse effects on short-term memory. A broad spectrum of cannabinoids is also ideal for treating cancer, as they work synergistically to boost their antitumor properties. Combining cannabinoids and terpenoids ( as in complete spectrum FLOWER) can also improve their usefulness as anti-inflammatories and painkillers."
