The plastic casing has a slot & tabs arrangement inside sized for an 18650 cell, but they've got a much smaller cell in there with some padding to keep it in place. It's a 14500.</p><p>When the fan's on, the load is too much for the cell. K Lars Lohn<p>Eneloop rechargeable batteries are not what they used to be. </p><p>The last of my 2011 purchase of twenty-four failed in 2023. They lasted 12 years.</p><p>Seven of the the twelve that I bought in 2016 are still working. Not as good as the '11 batteries, but still acceptable.</p><p>I bought twelve new batteries in 2022. Only four of the 2022 batteries still work in 2024.</p><p>I bought another twelve in 2023.
