Emorybehold as i "vibe flail" my way into this readwise API manager i've been hacking on in an attempt to make the service usable again.every time i go to add or change a tag on anything in my <a href="https://bird.makeup/users/readwisereader" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@readwisereader</a> account it hangs the browser and/or eventually crashes it. i think it's because i have like 80k documents and over 6K tags and 2500 of them are used once.so i'm hacking together something with the help of an <a href="https://soc.kvet.ch/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#AI</a> and learning entirely too much about <a href="https://soc.kvet.ch/tags/readwiseReader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#readwiseReader</a>'s APIs and shortcomings.

Emoryalright it's actually worse than i expected. the fact that it takes about an hour every time i iterate over this code to un-fsck my <a href="https://soc.kvet.ch/tags/readwiseReader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#readwiseReader</a> account is annoying enough.for those playing at home:## emory's <a href="https://bird.makeup/users/readwisereader" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@readwisereader</a> - 112,299 items - 5561 tags in use - 5447 of them are used less than 10 times - 2659 are used 1 time# action plan- drop all tags used 1 time and test performance of adding highlight with metadata to Reader - if still sluggish drop all tags used 10 or less times.

Emoryfor those interested in my <a href="https://soc.kvet.ch/tags/ReadwiseReader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ReadwiseReader</a> annoyances: their web UI crawls to a stop every time I try to add a tag to an ITEM (article, book, paper, feed) and i suspect it's cuz i have a ton of tags.for diving into your <a href="https://soc.kvet.ch/tags/readwise" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#readwise</a> data this repo is good: <a href="https://github.com/Scarvy/readwise-reader-cli" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank">https://github.com/Scarvy/readwise-reader-cli</a> and an AI will get it fast.So I have exactly **5555 tags** in my Readwise Reader.when it comes to triaging information, data, knowledge of any kind i over-taxonomize easily. gotta cull many but can't in browser 🤣

Emoryi've been using <a href="https://soc.kvet.ch/tags/PiecesOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#PiecesOS</a> the <a href="https://soc.kvet.ch/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#AI</a> Context Service that keeps track of what i'm working on across three workstations. i found a repo of code that might let me cull tags from my <a href="https://soc.kvet.ch/tags/readwiseReader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#readwiseReader</a> account but was having some errors so i outright asked "will this let me do this" and the co-pilot was like "bruh look at your terminal output it's clearly working, you just need to use the right flags duh" 😂 now it's just the rate limiting. apparently i've got over 80k articles and feed items in there!

Now, Reader does not pop up as app to open links from an RSS in Tapestry, so it seems like it does not support Universal Links or provides URL schemes to permalinks. However, can I achieve that with a Custom setup? I need to dig into the support site, but this is a bit over my head.
