Rusticl is the best <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/opencl" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>opencl</span></a> I can get right now.</p>
karolherbst 🐧 🦀<p>so uhm... I think the next big thing for <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/rusticl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rusticl</span></a> would be to get SVM up and running on <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Intel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Intel</span></a> and <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/radeonsi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>radeonsi</span></a> and I already have a plan for Intel 🦀 </p><p>And that would essentially give us proper CUDA/HIP and SyCL support</p>
karolherbst 🐧 🦀<p>Submitted some patches I had been sitting around to fix some <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/radeonsi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>radeonsi</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/OpenCL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenCL</span></a> issues: <a href="https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/22597" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/me</span><span class="invisible">sa/-/merge_requests/22597</span></a></p><p>That leaves me with around 10 tests in total (out of ~2500) to hit OpenCL conformance with radeonsi.</p><p>But this week I'm on PTO so I won't do any serious work 🙃 so this will have to wait for until later.</p>

karolherbst 🐧 🦀<p>uhh, seems like enough random stuff landed and now the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/rusticl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rusticl</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/radeonsi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>radeonsi</span></a> MR only has seven patches on it: <a href="https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/19232" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/me</span><span class="invisible">sa/-/merge_requests/19232</span></a></p><p>so close :3</p>
karolherbst 🐧 🦀<p>in case you wondered, yes I figured it out and no it wasn't a bug inside <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/llvm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>llvm</span></a>, but more of a bug inside <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/radeonsi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>radeonsi</span></a> 🙃</p>
karolherbst 🐧 🦀<p>Okay.. I think I got the new API for <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/opencl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>opencl</span></a>'s WorkGroupInfo figured out as it works quite nicely with <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/radeonsi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>radeonsi</span></a> now. Just missing implementations for <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/nouveau" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nouveau</span></a>, <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/llvmpipe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>llvmpipe</span></a> and <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/panfrost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>panfrost</span></a> (and maybe the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/iris" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iris</span></a> one could be improved a little?)</p><p><a href="https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/19855" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/me</span><span class="invisible">sa/-/merge_requests/19855</span></a></p>
karolherbst 🐧 🦀<p>I did a sneaky and worked on <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/rusticl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rusticl</span></a> today.</p><p>Made some progress on doing a proper clGetKernelWorkGroupInfo implementation, which is more or less needed for <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/radeonsi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>radeonsi</span></a> support and will help with other drivers as well.</p><p>(though there are others things I should deal with 🙃, I hope nobody finds out, otherwise I'll be in great trouble. My 🦀 🦀 🦀 will protect me!)</p>
