Here's another one for the #blind #hiveMind primarily, but feel free to chime in if you have a good idea.
For an upcoming video/stream, I am looking into video editing as a #screenReader user. I'd like to cover both #mac and #windows and am curious what solutions have worked well for people in the past.
Conditions are no mouse usage at all, app needs to be screenreader-compatible, ideally somewhat full-featured both for #audio and #video.
Be it #iMovie, #Clipchamp, #quicktime, #reaper, a dreaded #AI tool, tell me thy success stories, thy struggles and thy findings! :) #accessibility

Digging through my #Steam library and found a game that I apparently last played in 2014: Symphony (Empty Clip Studios). Basically, an arcade shooter that loads up music from your own music library and lets you shoot some vector things, to the beat.

Problem is, most of the music I have downloaded on this computer is via iTunes, in AAC format. Back in the day I bought the AAC add-on for Symphony, but the problem is, Symphony asks me to install QuickTime. #Apple has deprecated #QuickTime for Windows, so I'm not *too* keen on trying to install it. Also the game says "hey we're not allowed to distribute the decoder" - shit, I paid money for the add-on, what did I pay you guys for back in the day? Apple *sucks*, man.

Guess I'll convert shit to sensible formats after all if I want to play this. Hell, these days I can even use MP3s without feeling bad! Remember: Hella proprietary formats *continue* to screw you over, if not today, then one day in the future.

trying to update my knowledge of video codecs for #resolume so I can chop up video clips with audio more precisely. Recommendations from the KB are from over a decade ago, then download links for #codec tools are two insecure HTTP hops deep into feeling like it's the era of K-Lite Mega Codec Pack all over again; looking at u #quicktime

Have you ever thought about how amazing modern #video #compression is?

When #QuickTime came out in 1991, the video codecs didn't save you much space, and were very primitive. You could see the (temporally) repeating blocks very obviously, and they didn't have a lot of finesse.

Cinepak was the first one that had some real compression muscle, then Intel Indeo and others.

I've got a 113-second, 720x1600 video that SHOULD take up 21GB of data raw, but easily compresses down to 16MB, and I can hardly tell the difference.

That's 1360:1 savings!

Ok, tech question:

My brother shot a video on his iphone and sent it via text to me. The file size is 7.9 mb according to iphoto. I attempted to attach it to several different email account clients and got the message that it is over the 25 mb size limit. Someone please tell me what I am missing here?

Thank you
