quick question:
quick question:
I don't know if it's because of all the months I've spent using and configuring #AwesomeWM or because #python is so much more powerful and easy to read and write than #lua (at least to me), but in the last couple of days I've been giving a shot at #qtile and it's just great.
It took me just a few hours to replicate my Awesome set up, and although people really like to say "python == slow", it feels smoother and snappier than any other TWM I've used so far.
Kudos to Qtile!
I’ve played with my #QTile config and I’m having some fun. I am going to change the bar up a little bit and change the border colours.
I’m also using this change of WM to give dmenu a try as opposed to Rofi (which has slowed down on my laptop of late) which is a lot speedier, now I need to customise the config of that.
I'm going to be trying QTile today. I'm curious what cool features does it have (that aren't publicly known?
Also is QTile going Wayland? I'm asking so I know what to expect in the future.
I guess I should probably introduce myself, even though I've never even bothered doing one of these before.
I migrated this account from another server.

My current age as of writing is some prime number greater than thirty. My location is somewhere north of the equator and six hours west of Greenwich when daylight savings is observed.
In case you're wondering: my bio is an experiment in data poisoning against LLMs tasked with scraping social media profiles, and I would like to thank @alice for that idea because it wasn't my own.
Also, not that you were wondering, and not that I even know the character limit for bios on this server offhand for that matter, but however many characters that is, that's exactly how many mine is. If there's one thing I'm really good at, it's matching character limits exactly, and that is why I stopped using Tinder. Don't ask.
If you're reading this and I'm following you, I can tell you with absolute certainty that you're awesome. If you're reading this and I'm not following you, I probably should be, and I'll assume you're awesome unless and until you show me otherwise.
Thank you, and #MerryChristmas

EDIT: a word.
I've updated my main computer to #NixOS 24.11 (it hasn't been released yet).
So far it has been working quite well except for one small detail.
The Volume widget in #qtile isn't working properly anymore.
It just shows the muted icon the whole time and clicking it doesn't change anything.
Haven't seen anything in the logs yet.
Qtile
Last year, we managed to get Qtile into the official Fedora repositories. Today we did the same for qtile-extras. It will take a week or so until it gets into stable but after that, you can simply run:
dnf install qtile-extras
Trust me
Ok, round it goes.
Had my go with #hyprland and #qtile once more and I really like those two "WMs".
But I'm back on #KDE #plasma right now. It's just so good. Fast, stable and it's kinda refreshing that you're having an easy-to-theme desktop. Not thinking about wrong/inconsistent cursors or other things. Don't get me wrong. From time to time I love to tinker around but for work and consistency I love a normal, modern DE.
When society is turbulent... Stay calm and code, imagine, let's go for the RICE !!!
Archlinux + Qtile TWM + Picom + Thunar + Alacrity + Custom Rofi + Animated wallpaper with mpv.
And you? Show me your desktop, what are you using ? Are there any Linux UX/UI artists on mastodon?
Since desktop environments can always change and many new releases came out since last year, I would like to know which desktop environment you currently use?
