I've since stopped using it, and I reckon the stale bot played a part in that.

NormI currently run <a href="https://fosstodon.org/@safing" class="u-url mention">@safing</a>'s <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Portmaster" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#Portmaster</a> in 'Block by default' mode for <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#privacy</a>. But I'm getting frustrated by constantly having to check the logs and allowing individual domains when I install a new app. Or I end up just allowing an app as a whole in order to avoid this.Is there any benefit in configuring Portmaster to 'Allow by default' in a set-and-forget kind of way? Michael :donor:Looks like the open-source application firewall Portmaster has been acquired by the VPN provider IVPN.I have tried out Portmaster in the past, it worked quite well. It is GPL licensed and will hopefully stay that way. But in my experience, an acquisition of a widely used open-source tool usually leads to a non-foss license change down the line, let's hope that doesn't happen here... there are no indicators of that happening other than my own cynicism. But my cynicism has been well-fed over the last years by corporations acquiring and enshittifying previously open-source projects.
