Incomplete

There is no perfection,
no idyll.
Instead, I seek to find
my missing part,
that was torn from my soul,
so very long ago,
and leaves me, now
bleeding, in pain.
I am not whole.
Nor is that fragment, of
my past life, of vision –
riven
by ancient bronze –
that, I know, hides,
beyond the Western sky, and
without which, the ages
will curse me, forever.

Assumptions

Don’t tell me
I’ve turned away.
I have not.
Don’t tell me
I don’t want, or need, you.
I do.
These are for me to know,
not to be decided for me.

I have actual faults,
and these, I admit.

Tell me what I do not know -
the things silence, distance,
hid from me, left me
to misinterpret, and fear.

Tell me what is in your heart.
But, not until you can see
clearly, again.
Until then,
I will wait for you.
