Oh, and I forgot to whine about how I keep buying computer games that I already have! Luckily, they are very very cheap, like Fell Seal for US$2, but still. It's not like I even need more games, but it's inexcusable to double buy. I have both GoG Galaxy and, more recently, I've been enjoying #Playnite, which track all my purchases/freebies across the myriad platforms. Gah. That compulsion might also be an indicator of my ADHD I guess.

Coming off the heels of #Strider Remake, I didn’t know what to play, especially since I own over 7000 #videogames. I used #Playnite to choose a random game for me and it chose #Gyromancer.

Developed by #PopCap for #SquareEnix in 2009, this #match3 #puzzleRPG is something like #PuzzleQuest but instead of tiles swapping spots, you rotate 4 tiles clockwise. This mechanic makes things interesting, but in the end it’s repetitive and not what I’m looking for atm.

Morning Folks! A while back I saw someone on the Fediverse talking about an alternative to GOG Galaxy that gave you access to all of your games regardless of launcher through a single interface. Yesterday I finally got around to installing #Playnite and this morning I talked about my experience so far.

I have to say it is pretty slick and takes up a negligible amount of system resources.

Apparently the buttons work after a while (probably after stopping to try syncing for minutes).
It's still a bad experience and not acceptable.
The servers are not needed for 3rd party offline games, at all.

Playnite is pretty neat.
I love to see statistics based on my whole game catalogue like that, even if I have to set some values, manually.
Even better: It's open source.

The only things I don't like, so far:
It does not support the PlayStation library.
It does not show my online friends from Steam and XBox directly in the application.
There is no indicator for how many games match the current filter.

I have #Playnite setup how I want it on my #ROGAlly now!

Game tabs for Installed, Backlog, and Recently Added, as well as tabs for each of the stores/launchers. And then when you select a game, the trailer is fetched from #Steam (regardless of whether the game originates from Steam or not) and is automatically played.

It updates on launch and downloads meta data automatically as well, so allowing for minor tweaks occassionally, it's pretty seemless!
