Es existiert keine Einschränkung zu Postings, wie einem Mastodon das glauben machen möchte. Einschränkungen des Postings ergeben nur Sinn, wenn man mit vielen Accounts auf Mastodon verbunden ist. Da man das aber nur schwer oder ungenau mitbekommt (man kann es öfter am Handle im Accountnamen sehen), ist das auch nicht sicher. <br>Andere Plattformen/Dienste = teilweise andere Funktionen.</p>

These are public, friends only, unlisted and direct messages. What actually happens when you use those settings? The only thing they will change are the to and cc fields of the created activity and object. Your server will federate the post to other servers depending on those fields, and hopes the other server respects this. There is no technological guarantee for this, though. A malicious server could leak all the data it receives. This includes posts to friends and direct messages.</p><p>“Unlisted” posts are not even in the ActivityPub standard. B. das Einschränken von Posts nur an Follower oder das Blockieren von einzelnen Accounts: <br>Diese Funktionen funktionieren nur zuverlässig innerhalb von Mastodon oder da, wo andere Plattformen diese Funktionen auch implementiert haben. Ansonsten ist es sehr wahrscheinlich, dass diese Funktionen nicht immer umgesetzt werden.</p><p>Nur "für Follower" posten, das ist leider eine Illusion. Eigentlich gibt es nur öffentlich oder garnicht. <br>Man kann das zwar einschränken für Leute, die Mastodon benutzen. Alle anderen mit anderen Diensten können die Postings trotzdem lesen, zum Beispiel von friendica oder sonstigen der mittlerweile dutzenden verbundenen Diensten. Das betrifft auch so Sachen wie Blockieren von Leuten. Blockieren macht nur, dass du selbst die Kommentare nicht mehr lesen kannst von dem Störenfried. Er kann aber antworten und andere können das auch lesen. Man kann das leicht überprüfen, wenn man ausgeloggt sein Posting aufruft (einfach vorher den Link zum Posting kopieren und in die Adressleiste des Browsers einfügen). Dann sieht man, dass blockierte Leute da trotzdem Dinge reinschreiben. Eben weil sie von anderen Plattfomen aus schreiben.</p>
