Have been a little slow publishing any photographs while transitioning from Capture One to ART (RawTherapee fork) but here is one edited aurora picture from countryside this Autumn during #Perseid meteor shower with one #shootingstar visible. This is the result of a wonderful evening spent with my kids under a dark sky. It was also my first attempt at capturing a meteor shower.

Did I just monitor the echoes of a whole swarm of satellites?
Watching the echoes from the Graves radar to monitor for Perseid meteorites, I can occasionally see satellites as well. This happens when the reflections are strong enough. Sats are always easily discernible due to their much higher speed compared to airplanes.
Now I saw this this morning - an entire set of sat-like reflections, like a group of satellites close by and following the same trajectory.
I love looking at the night sky, at this time of year #Perseid, looking for a shooting star, to streak across the sky!

I failed to see any #Perseid last night with my eyes, but I had my camera on an interval for about an hour and a half, and it *did* capture one!
Nothing spectacular though.

A meteor shower: specifically, the Perseid meteor shower. A few nights ago, after the sky darkened, many images of meteors from this year's Perseids were captured separately and merged into a single frame.
The featured image was taken from Wiltshire, England, being careful to include, at the bottom, the famous astronomical monument of Stonehenge.
Managed to spend an hour outside observing the #Perseid meteor shower tonight. I was rewarded with a fair few meteors, including 3 really nice bright ones - not quite fireballs, but bright enough to leave a visible trail behind them briefly.
