TJNa Seansoilse (2010); Rolling back to my 2nd visit to Ireland with this panorama just outside Hore Abbey in the fields of Cashel. This is, again, a remake from RAW files instead of HDR. In case anyone is wondering why I always mention HDR when working with panoramas, this is mainly because of the dynamic range that usually such panoramas encompass (specifically outdoors). Doing panoramas in HDR is safer (and believe it or not, somewhat easier when it comes to processing) than editing only RAW files and stitching them together. TJNow, this is an old panorama which, again, I've done in HDR (and I've done in various format, I might post later), but here is the remake of that panorama, stitched from the RAW files only. Edited RAW that is. I'm not sure what the place exactly is, but I think it was part of the power plant complex (maybe the building that contained the offices of workers or something), on Failaka island. The island was depopulated and almost a ghost island or town during the 1990-1991 invasion and war, which kinda made it a sweet spot for those who wanna leave the noise of the city for few days. However, there is always news that the island should be revived and some planning for some projects is going on; which is something, honestly, I'd hate to see coming. Now, I know for some such places don't bear any sign of beauty whatsoever, but the thing here is about challenge, and vision. In fact, while trying to shoot this panorama, I've tried to carefully pick the middle point of this building to keep as much symmetry as possible. I have to admit, I was scared while working there; first because of the silence that gives you a feeling that someone is watching you, always, and secondly because I wasn't sure of the clearance of the building of any booby-traps or maybe hidden mines (though I know such things are seen more in the desert but still). Till this very day, once in a blue moon, we get news about the discovery of some unexploded ammo or a mine exposed after rains, or even a victim falling for one. TJPlaneta 360 (2016); OK, posted this yesterday (a re-make actually from RAW files), and here is the same panorama but done in HDR back in 2016 when I first shot this place, and in little planet format. Again I'll admit, I like the looks, but not the place itself. This panorama and the others were submitted to a contest (sponsored by the management of this mall) but of course I didn't win anything. And probably I've mentioned before how much I hate this place (No, I really hate this place, no kidding). Located at the heart of Cashel, the monastery ruins definitely look intriguing from the outside (and for all my stay in Cashel, I didn't know how to get in until the last day for me there). The monastery is composed mainly of 2 courts; this one here which is mainly a graveyard, and the other court (reachable through the gate at the center of the panorama here) is the main service court (I suppose). TJBusy Sky: I think I've shot this some time between 2014-2015. This version here is the one stitched from RAW files only without using HDR. This spot, a roundabout, is just outside of my workplace; well, when I used to work that is. This place is really unbearable when it comes to traffic jams at peak hours (peak hours being actually most of the working time really and 2 hours extra afterward or so). After finishing my work that day, I got out of the building and parked my car somewhere nearby and got my stuff from the car and walked to the center of the roundabout (the center as you can see here is occupied with some decoration and plants so I didn't shoot EXACTLY at the center). The thing I was fearing the most was being stopped by cops as they are suspicious and alert for anything, anybody, with a camera. Luckily, none of that happened back then. TJبَـهْـجَـةُ الْـعـاصِـيْ (sinner's delight) - 2014; Again, with another old panorama but done out of RAW files instead of HDR. Shooting at night, in winter, is surely fun (despite the streak of loneliness there). However, meeting some strange people that I wouldn't like to make any contact with is something inevitable sometimes. Here, there was a group of youngsters playing loud music in their car and then decided to head to this spot as I was walking trying to take my place to shoot. I had to cancel and got back and stayed in my car watching the situation waiting for them to leave the scene. The other thing that I was worried about is the security guys and cops who roam such places, and anyone walking around with a camera is directly a target of suspicion (while security guys, for sure, would block my way and ban me from taking any photos). TJΗλιοβασίλεμα του Ίκαρου (2012); Shot in 2012 and redone here with RAW files instead of HDR as in the original. This one too was offered in some stockphoto website but all had been deleted now. Doing this panorama had to be quick before the sun goes below the horizon. The situation was slippery, as I was standing with the tripod on a slippery ramp (to lower down the boats), and also I had to adjust the legs of the tripod to let the camera be level as much as possible. By the time I finished this panorama, it was dark already.
