Rachel Brindle<p>Flew along the Oregon Coast the other day. Absolutely beautiful terrain. Dense forested mountains abutting deep blue ocean. Breathtaking. I'm so lucky to be able to do this.</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/avgeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>avgeek</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/aviation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>aviation</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/oregon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>oregon</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/OregonCoast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OregonCoast</span></a></p>
Tracy Thomas<p>I’ve been doing a lot of hiking in preparation for a trip to the Dolomites in September. Slowly and steadily, I’ve been increasing distance, effort, and elevation, and my body is handling it with minimal dizziness. Today, I hiked to Cape Perpetua from the Yachats side on Amanda’s Trail. 7.8 miles and 1850 ft elevation gain - from the north side, the trail climbs higher than the level of the edge of the Cape, then descends back down to it. <a href="https://mastodon.beer/tags/oregoncoast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>oregoncoast</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.beer/tags/CapePerpetua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CapePerpetua</span></a></p>

The fancy new hotel in Newport (the Allred Hotel) just opened a month or so ago. I’ve been eyeing the outdoor patio the whole time the place was under construction. The views are incredible, and the beer list is 100% Oregon craft beer. Not bad for a Friday post work beer treat. #newportoregon #oregoncoast

I walked down to the jetty this morning at a minus low tide. It’s usually a great place to see a multitude of sea creatures, all piled on top of each other. This year, a deep water channel is blocking access to the best area. But I still peeked into nooks and crannies and saw some nice sea life. I noticed that one of my sea star pictures shows the tubes keeping it hanging on to the rocks, super cool. #newportoregon #oregoncoast
