in_sympathy<p>Someone sent me an Orange Pi 5 Pro the other day for repair and sadly I was not able to fix it, thought the issue was quite obvious. <br>RK806-1 PMIC not only blew up - it catched fire and welded itself to the board so badly that I was unable to remove it. It also took an SY8089AAC with it.</p><p>How did that happen? He used a DC-DC step-down converter. Spectral_Shadow<p>ok, so I installed ubuntu 24.04 from Joshua, because <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/armbian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>armbian</span></a> is not yet decently installable on my Orange pi 5b version.</p><p>armbian works as it should from an SD card but I have to tweak to have wifi, I CANNOT install armbian to EMMC within my orange pi, the emmc is visible only when inserting the sd card with the previous os(ubuntu) installed on emmc, but once you try to install on emmc it just disappear and never be shown again. </p><p>If they solve the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/emmc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>emmc</span></a> install I'll put it on my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/orangepi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>orangepi</span></a></p>
