jloc0Wiped a partition today to re-install <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#slackware</a> 15.0 and setup all these graphic updates and such to see just what I can pull out of 15.0’s ass now. Outside of possible <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#nwgshell</a> tricks, maybe I should do some cleanup for <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#gnome</a> 3.38 afterwards. It feels like going back in time!

jloc0I’m building myself a special liveslak with the “graphics-updates” built-in and a bunch of the needed stuff in extra as well for the purpose of testing <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#nwgshell</a> on stable with updates I can’t send to <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/sbo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#sbo</a> (they won’t accept anything based on anything not in the main tree or patches). It’s very possible we could have the latest sway & even be able to use Hyprland on 15.0 now. If that’s the case, I may create a special full featured nwg repo for 15.0 for users willing to go down that path.

Maybe better to look at it deeper first anyway.

jloc0The newly available swaync 0.12.0 update requires new deps, which isn’t a problem overall, but concerning <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#nwgshell</a> — it introduces 7 new packages into the mix (minus one if you count dropping granite 6 and adding 7). Most of them are gnome deps but adding them for notifications seems… excessive. 🤔
