Anders LundI have been quite happy with /e/os on my <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/fairphone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fairphone</a> <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/FP3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FP3</a> the last few years - but it is beginning to deteriorate lately, with more and more apps not being able to run. <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/mobilepay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#mobilepay</a> for one, but now also <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/garmin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#garmin</a> <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/navionics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#navionics</a> <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/boating" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#boating</a> - since last update it will not show my location, it keeps asking for permission - which it already have. I can downgrade for now, but it is not really a viable solution I believe. So what to do? I really dislike the idea of having to install <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/googleplay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#googleplay</a> services :(I believe we really need an alternative <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/mobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#mobile</a> os. A truely google free android would be fine with me for now, while a more navtive <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#linux</a> becomes feasible and commercial/public app providers realizes that there is a need for <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/flatpak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#flatpak</a> releases.Meanwhile, could <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/e_os" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#e_os</a> (<a href="https://expressional.social/tags/microG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#microG</a>) be fixed somehow?UPDATE: downgrading to version 2.22 of garmin boating fixed the issue for now.

Harald Hannelius :verified:Yesterday I made my first 100+ nautical mile passage. I have sailed distances like this before with this boat but that was a race and fully crewed. 110 NM ~20 hours, 7 of those by engine. Start at 07:00, landed 03:00 the next morning. 5.6 kn avg speed, helped by a ~0.4 kn current most of the way. Nice experience. Would I do it again? Yes, probably if needed but I do tend to enjoy shorter daysails more, where I can sail in lighter winds and not be forced to run the engine if I'm "not fast enough". Also, <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/navionics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#navionics</a> calculated the distance and avg speed seriously wrong on the pad for some reason. Suspect it was that my <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/yacker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#yacker</a> does some conversion of the data that messes things up, but without it I wouldn't have <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/AIS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#AIS</a> targets on my pad, nor depth soundings. <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/sailing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#sailing</a>
