#nameandfame Friday: hastebin! #opensource alternative to pastebin and easily self-hostable through #docker
It's not often that I #nameandfame IT suppliers, but there's one that definitely deserves it: Konica Minolta.
We lease our printers. They're the most stable cattle we have, never given us any issues, they're just getting old. Konica: "hey how about we give you completely new printers for a third of what you are paying now? Installation, configuration and support included, because non-profit. We'll bring them whenever works for you."
An IT supplier that makes my life easier, finally.
@utf8equalsX #nameandfame gods are lenient, "you shall'nt worry about naming a #foss project twice" the prophets say
@utf8equalsX looking forward to your #nameandfame entry on Friday suspense is killing me!
Excellent choice though
Can't wait until it's #nameAndFame friday… #Gnumeric is truly a pleasure to work with. I can use it to make the XY charts and even a colored XY charts I want. Perfect!
I'd like to mention #jasp, #foss statistics software from the great people working at the University of Amsterdam! Phenomenal project taking on the likes of SPSS.
#nameandfame please promote an #opensource of your liking with the rest of the community!
I think I want to join on #nameandfame every week, as I do want to promote these awesome projects.
This week: GStreamer
Because I really like not having to worry about filetypes, thanks to it elementary Videos & Music (amongst others) can play whatever video or audio file I give it. No fuss.
I don't find mainstream/proprietary software achieves this level of "IT JUST WORKS!"
#nameandfame Friday is back!
#natron, open source compositing software, best there is (to my limited knowledge) in the #foss battle against adobe.
https://natrongithub.github.io/
Please note the project is in need of developers and maintainers.
If possible, boost if you know developers looking for #opensource projects to contribute to.
#nameandfame Friday is upon us once again.
#ledgercli is a double-entry accounting system I still fail at miserably, but I persevere. It's been around since 2003 and still actively developed! That deserves a round of applause
#nameAndFame friday: Gadgetbridge, the app that connects to wearables. It replaced the Pebble app for me, which always wanted to remove apps from the watch's cache quickly, which was very annoying. #Gadgetbridge doesn't. That's why I prefer ist. And also because it is on #fdroid.
@Gina my #NameAndFame Friday project is Jellyfin, the #FOSS fork that was created after Emby went proprietary.
Having been around the block with Plex, Kodi and the usual suspects, I'm loving Jellyfin so far.
It's still quite a young project but development is very active and I haven't encountered any pain points so far.
For #NameAndFame Friday, I'd like to give a shout out to a #Foss tool that plays an important role in my daily work: Ansible!
Ansible is an amazing automation tool with very clear syntax, which can manage anything over ssh; servers, switches, apps, or workstations. We will be using it today to deploy our entire new infrastructure from code. This article gives a fun intro on how to configure a workstation with Ansible: https://opensource.com/article/18/3/manage-workstation-ansible
Who would you like to boost for #nameandfame Friday?
#nameandfame Friday is here! I haven't used this tool yet, but discovered it this week and can't wait to create my own #VST plugins for music production!
#nameandfame
hastebin is an awesome self hosted solution to replace pastebin! #foss all the way!
A last minute #NameAndFame Friday. An easy one because I've been enjoying far too much wine here in Florence. Nonetheless, a lot of #FOSS / #opensource devs deserve some love!
I'd like to give a shoutout to #VLC mediaplayer. I've been using it all week to cast the latest GoT episodes to my tv. It's just amazing software. These guys could have been crazy rich by now, but they chose to distribute their software for free.
Who do you want to boost on #NameAndFame Friday?
@jordan31 that's what we have #nameandfame for. Make sure to let us know about something we didn't know existed!
#nameAndFame friday: I'd like to thank @inkscape for existing, because I got an A in arts class with designs I made using it (partially recycled as my current avatar and banner).
I know a lot of people probably will have heard about it already, but I really wanted to say thanks :)

And a great example of practical software written in #haskell!
