GateLinker<a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Windows11" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#Windows11</a> still supports old <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/MCI" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#MCI</a> APIs to play audio and video files. You can write your own player in a few lines of code with it. But some files, especially <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/MP3" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#MP3</a> podcasts, could not be opened. 🤔 Why? Well, they came with embedded <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/jpeg" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#jpeg</a> images, so Windows fails to read them.But there are great tools like <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/mp3tag" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#mp3tag</a> to remove such attachments. Now I can listen to those podcasts too.However, there are other OSS MP3 apps like <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/mpg123" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#mpg123</a> without such bugs ... I should switch to them instead. 😁

Current 9.x on pi status: Pi Zero 2W works, wired, but drops packets and isn't happy with most wired dongles either. Much less wireless. Sound via USB dongleblaster(*). The Pi 4 runs great, only complaint is the second HDMI port stays rainbow 🌈 after booting. Upgrade success goal: a a smoother net for the 0 and widescreen for the 4.(*) On review, audio from the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/RaspberryPi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#RaspberryPi</a> Zero2W works fine through the onboard HDMI port also with <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/PkgSrc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PkgSrc</a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/mpg123" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#mpg123</a>.
