MossThe doctor didn't explain things as well as I wish she did, which is to say she didn't really talk about any side effects of <a href="https://meow.social/tags/Mirena" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Mirena</a>, give me options for <a href="https://meow.social/tags/IUD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#IUD</a>, or provide information about the IUD I got.I also got misgendered a lot, it was so awful 😔 I didn't get any sort of pads to prepare for the bleeding, and ruined my underwear.I can't reiterate enough that this appointment was for a surgical consult, and I feel so weird about everything that happened.

About 2wks ago the advice changed to the Mirena being effective for 6yrs - not 5. I’ve still had mine replaced today, but you should know that you can wait til the 6yr mark. (My source is a FPNSW doctor.)

I don’t know which form and dose is best though.The only other treatment for endometriosis is more hormones (which make me sick) and surgery, after which it grows back. Can’t find a doctor specialising in alternative treatments. They all just want to give you a <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Mirena" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Mirena</a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/IUD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#IUD</a> (without anaesthetic!) and surgery after surgery. Sometimes <a href="https://aus.social/tags/hysterectomy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#hysterectomy</a> if bad enough. There’s also been some studies about CBD oil and <a href="https://aus.social/tags/LongCovid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#LongCovid</a>. Something about switching on the <a href="https://aus.social/tags/cannabinoid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#cannabinoid</a> system.Disclaimer: Yes of course I would get a <a href="https://aus.social/tags/medical" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#medical</a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/marijuana" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#marijuana</a> license and buy it legally on prescription. *cough*

Amelia 🖤I hear a lot of worry about the <a href="https://todon.nl/tags/mirena" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#mirena</a> <a href="https://todon.nl/tags/coil" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#coil</a> so just want to share that I've gotten on perfectly with it and have just had my second one put in. Some pain every 5 years is worth the positives for me. Also it's a good excuse to bosh as much codeine as I want for an evening.
