Whatever happened to #WordPressP2? I recall it in the early 2010s as a way to turn a #WordPress site into a #selfhosted #Twitter alternative. Then they started marketing it as a #Slack alternative, emphasizing the way they use it internally to guide #remotework called [happy tools](happy.tools/). Seems like it hasn't caught fire as either of these. Why not an #openweb alt to #Mastodon and other #Fediverse #microblogging tools via the #activitypub plug-in?

A tangent, but ...

Mastodon adopted a default character limit as part of its attempt to tempt Titter users to migrate to the fediverse. But most fediverse server software never had them, and they've always been optional for Mastodon servers admins, who can easily extend or abolish them for their server.

#MicroBlogging, as a medium, seems to be on its way out. Most new entrants to the 'verse (eg WordPess, Ghost) are long form.
