The law in Massachusetts is that minor children need the signature of one parent in order to change their gender marker. The form has only one signature slot. But, contrary to the law and the form, the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics is rejecting forms that don’t have signatures from two parents. (Where does the second parent put their signature? Unclear.)
The policy isn’t on their website and the form doesn’t have a spot for a second signature. Applicants don’t get the form back and are required to go through the process of compiling all their information again.
Seems like something that a large media organization ought to cover.
Also, if you want a role model for how one person in government can delay or destroy implementation of a law, this is a great example.

This piece by @amymaxmen for KFF is long and packed with information about the experiences of nursing aids who suffered and are still suffering because of a lack of societal support for their important work at the beginning of the pandemic.
But it's not just sad history - there is legislation and advocacy happening now.
@CuriousMagpie I think it's pretty unlikely she wouldn't retain her seat. Maybe I live in a bubble, but people seem pretty happy with her. Happier than when she originally ran, iirc.

I honestly can't believe this.
The #MaLegislature thinks that the solution to the burgeoning population in emergency shelter is... to limit how long people can stay in emergency shelter for. When asked where exactly those people will live when they're kicked out of shelter, their answer appears to be, "Duuuh, I dunno." They just can't be bothered.
Give. People. Homes.
