Sollte sich das bei @mailbox_org tatsächlich herausstellen, dass fremde E-Mails im Postfach liegen (bei Verwendung von Catch-All), dann ist das Vertrauen in #mailbox_org aber massiv beschädigt.
Nutze selbst Catch-All, hatte bislang keine fremde Mail in meinem Postfach, kann aber offensichtlich nicht ausschließen, dass Mails, die eigentlich für *mich* bestimmt sind, in fremden (mit Catch-All konfigurierten) Postfächern gelandet sind.

Wieso kann ich einen #mailbox_org iCal Link nicht in der #macOS #Kalender App einbinden? Ich gehe über File > New Calender Subscription und da paste ich den Link von dem freigegebenen mailbox.org Kalender rein.

Das ?ical=true habe ich hinten an den Link angehängt. Ohne geht es aber auch nicht.

Dann kommt folgender Fehler:

There was an error subscribing to the calendar.

There was an unexpected error with the request on subscribed calendars (error 500).

Leichte Tendenz zu mailbox.org, weil mir #tuta für private Mails zu teuer, trotz konsequentem Datenschutz.

So I've given @mailfence a very quick test on their Free tier.

That seems to be quite reasonable alternative for e-mail services. In som parts it's what I would expect @mailbox_org being. Except of one thing: Unencrypted incoming e-mails will not be stored encrypted.

Since I'm on the free tier currently, I've not tested the IMAP integration.

The weakness of #Mailfence and #Mailbox are that the PGP setup requires some efforts to happen. The "settings" panel on Mailfence is cleaner and better organized than mailbox.org, but the latter one is capable of ensuring all received e-mails are stored encrypted - regardless if it was encrypted at arrival or not.

PGP key management is still not as easy as it should be for non-tech users. "It should just happen automatically", is my stance here. It's close to being good, but you need to explicitly enable encryption on each mail you send - unless you reply to an already encrypted mail. This will confuse users and it will result in more unencrypted mails sent than intended.

Neither Mailfence nor mailbox.org will decrypt encrypted Subject fields.

I've briefly tested the WebDAV integration, which seems to work. But WebDAV is not end-to-end-encrypted, so uploaded data will not be stored in so-called "zero access" mode. This means the Mailfence people managing their servers can access and read your data. This will be the same for CalDAV/CardDAV too (calendar and contacts synching)

Mailbox.org recently announced they will upgrade their login system - which is long overdue. Their OTP setup is currently just confusing and very far from user friendly. Here Mailfence is very straight forward.

Both Mailfence and #mailbox_org still got quite a long way to provide a properly privacy enabled service. They're on a good path, but currently far from the capabilities of @protonprivacy, even on the most basic features in e-mail.

Bei den meisten Online-Meetings treffe ich auf #Zoom, #Teams oder #Webex. Seitdem ich letztes Jahr von #Microsoft365 zu @mailbox_org wechselte nutze ich entweder #Opentalk von #mailbox_org oder #Jitsi. Jetzt schaue ich mir auch mal @senfcall an.

Mailbox.org nutze ich primär für #Mail #Kalender und #Kontakte. Für #Cloud und #Office setze ich auf #Nextcloud und #OnlyOffice auf meinem #NAS und auf #LibreOffice auf meinem Notebook.

Jetzt, besonders mit #UnplugTrump waren das gute Entscheidungen.

Hat jemand Erfahrung mit mailbox.org oder Posteo und wie gut deren Spamschutz ist? Ich würde ja vermuten eher so rudimentär.

Ich persönlich werde das nicht zu 100% umsetzen, aber wenn es Alternativen ohne (für mich) größere Einschränkungen gibt - warum nicht umsteigen? Los gings vor 2 Jahren mit #Gmail (ersetzt durch #mailbox_org mit eigener Maildomain).

Hatte überlegt meine Kalender zu #mailbox_org zu migrieren. Kalender teilen geht dort aber nur innerhalb mailbox.org und auch nur zwischen Teamaccounts. Man kann andere Accounts aber keinem Team hinzufügen, nur neu erstellen. Damit ist das irgendwie alles sinnlos. Was nutz ihr privat zum Kalender teilen mit Familie/Freunden?

Es gibt jetzt im übrigen 2fa & App Passwörter bei @mailbox_org in der Beta.

Ich bin seit kurzer Zeit Kunde von Mailbox.org und bereue es bisher überhaupt nicht.

A couple of months ago, maybe even 1 or 2 years ago, I also was searching for a new E-Mail provider. Because IONOS build in features, that they said, should secure their customers. They don't allow sending E-Mails from an Alias anymore. Which hasn't anything to do with securing their customers... Just restricting working configurations. Anyway:

I couldn't find a new Mailprovider that met my requirements. Sadly at that time neither did mailbox.org or posteo.de.

The thing is, that I use aliases at my own domain intensively. Like mastodon@mydomain.com, twitter@ and so on.

In the last years, I build a lot of aliases. And, somehow mailbox.org just restrict using them (WTF? - there is absolutely no(!) need to restrict the use of aliases even in their most expensive packet!). And I thought, even posteo was restricting them, but now I can't find that restriction in their docs anymore. And I can't create an Posteo account to find out their abilities, because I need to pay. There doesn't seem to be a way of a "30 day trial period" or something.

So, long story short: Can't recommend the german mail provider because of some stupid alias restrictions according to their public docs. And, sadly enough, I couldn't find any other provider that would help me with my aliases other than simplelogin.io. Which might be the cheeto-fingered oompah-loompas you mentioned.

BTW. Posteo advertises 12(!) different colors (schemes) for its web interface on the first place of their website. Come on... it's not 1990 anymore. Although they have a "brand new"(?) dark theme, the web interface looks more like very old SquirrelMail at first glance (https://www.squirrelmail.org/screenshots.php)

Sorry, I don't want to rant. Maybe the privacy features and green energy and free bike repair things for their staff outweigh these things... But I'm not 100% sure if they really can outperform on other important layers in E-Mail Communication, too.

Also I don't even got started about other Mailboxes that I manage for my family members. I don't think that any of the two would have the possibility to manage multiple own domains for multiple (other? as in: payed by someone else) mailboxes.

Probably I will start / need to start my own Mailprovider if I had to much time and money.
